Annual Events
Two events have been established annually to promote the work of the Brereton Memorial Fund and to continue to raise money for the fund.
- one recital at the annual IAO Music Festival
- one of the series of recitals at Rochdale Town Hall arranged by The Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside Organists’ Association

Featured Works included Prelude and Fugue in A Minor by Bach, Choral II in B Minor by Franck and an arrangement of Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries arranged by Edwin Lemare.
2017 – Simon Hogan
Works included Orb and Sceptre by Walton, Fantasia and Fugue in G by Parry and Scherzo in G minor by Enrico Bossi.
2016 – Francesca Massey (soon to be Director of Music at Rochester Cathedral)
Featured works by Wagner, Ireland, Franck and Karg-Elert
2015 – Keith Hearnshaw
This Programme featured works by Bach, Mendelssohn, Elgar and Vierne.
2014 – David Butterworth (Nottingham)
Works performed included: Organ Solo – Janacek, Prelude and Fugue in E by Lübeck and Variations on Merck Toch Hoe Sterck by Cor Kee.
2010 – “Battle of the Organs” given by Keith Hearnshaw and Alex Binns
This recital made use of two organs to create a varied programme featuring solo items and duets by Bach, Handel, Whitlock and Mendelssohn.
